Editor’s note: This story is from an overseas worker with Kansas-Nebraska ties.

Yearly people (mainly women) travel to a Big Island outside our city to climb a hill to ask God for a favor.

This year a group of us went to tell the story of the Prodigal Son and offer free henna art on women’s hands and arms. We used this opportunity to present a more accurate view of God as the loving and forgiving Father.

I told the story for three days and my throat became sore. But I prayed for the Lord to sustain my voice. And He did!

With one group I finished the story of the Prodigal Son before the henna art was finished and I was asked to tell another story. So I shared the story of the lost sheep and how God loves and pursues us.

Another girl mentioned she had read the Incil (New Testament) and that she had visions of Jesus. I gave her another New Testament and encouraged her to keep reading it.

Your gifts to the Cooperative Program and Lottie Moon Christmas Offering® sustain us as we share Christ through such forms as henna art.

Please pray for:

  • Praise the Lord for allowing us to be at a place where people ask favors from God. Please pray that He will give us more opportunities to share about a loving, forgiving and pursing Father.
  • Pray that these stories will create a hunger and thirst for more Truth and that women will seek a personal relationship with God.
