The summer of 2018 was busy for Two Rivers Fellowship, North Platte, Neb., and the beginning of fall is just as busy.

This season of evangelism was preceded by a lot of praying, planning, and preparation.

We called our people and our partners to pray for us, the teams coming to help, and neighborhoods we were targeting. We used a newsletter, Facebook, prayer-walking and email to call people to pray for us.

Our strategy looked like an army taking an island:

  1. Prayer was used to defeat the adversary and soften hardened hearts to the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  2. Four Neighborhood Block Parties were used to create an awareness of Two Rivers Fellowship, soften hearts to the church and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
  3. A Sports Camp concentrated on a targeted neighborhood with the goals to share the gospel and to discover church and evangelistic prospects.

This summer we saw 12 decisions for Christ. Four people followed Christ in baptism and three more are awaiting baptism.

The work has just begun. We are busy following up on those who made decisions for Christ and their families. Part of this is starting ministries to involve believers and seekers. We have started a worship service at the Connection Homeless Shelter to serve that people group. We have a simple church that meets in a home on Wednesdays, and a Kids Bible Zone at an apartment complex hoping to follow up on a block party and sports camp.

We have one small family mission team coming in September and two individuals coming in September to help with follow up with evangelistic and church prospects.

This fall and winter Doug and Brenda Lee are projecting the need to focus on discipling those whom God has given us and re-dreaming for 2019.
