Carl and Frances Garrett
Carl grew up in a pastor’s home. When he entered college, he discovered many preachers’ kids did not consider this to be a blessing and a privilege as he did. This awareness was the beginning of his sensitivity to the needs of ministers’ families.
Carl was a pastor when he and Frances married. They served churches in Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas for more than 40 years before they started a new phase in ministry in LeaderCare.
His pastorates included 12 years at First Baptist Church, Carthage, Mo., and 16 years at Emmanuel Baptist Church, Overland Park, Kan. Carl served as president both of the Missouri Baptist Convention and the Kansas-Nebraska Convention of Southern Baptists.
Frances grew up in a Christian family, and she was active in the church. Her father was a deacon for more than 60 years.
Frances is a Licensed Professional Counselor, licensed in Missouri and Kansas. She was in private practice for 14 years. God is using her counseling skills and Carl’s pastoral experience to strengthen ministers and their families.
