Men attending the 2019 KNCSB Man Up Men’s Retreat learned how to successfully navigate the wilderness times in their lives.

Man Up was held March 8-9 at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan.

A wilderness experience can either be crippling or faith building, Shane Lester told the men. He is pastor of LifeSpring Midtown in Omaha, Neb.

Lester gave these tips for thriving during a wilderness experience:

  • Life in the wilderness can be a fertile ground for criticism. So look to and trust in God.
  • Life in the wilderness can be fertile ground for questioning. So turn upward in honest prayer.
  • Life in the wilderness can be fertile ground for complaining. So embrace God’s redemptive work.
  • Life in the wilderness can be fertile ground for doubting God. So be receptive and submissive.
