Two churches met Sunday, May 21, in Lexington, Neb., to celebrate the eighth anniversary of Rock of Salvation Baptist Church, a Hispanic church.
The two churches were Fort Morgan Church (Hispanic) from Fort Morgan, Colo., and Two Rivers Fellowship in North Platte, Neb. About 80 people from the three churches gathered for worship and fellowship over a meal.
Pastor Felix Zaldivar from Rock of Salvation Baptist Church preached from John 3:16-21.
Plaques of appreciation were given to Fort Morgan Church for planting Rock of Salvation Church and Pastor Doug and Brenda Lee for their support and encouragement. Doug was pastor of Ogallala Community Church, Ogallala, Neb., which later sponsored Rock of Salvation Church.
Rock of Salvation Baptist Church began as a Guatemalan church but is now reaching Mexicans and Hondurans.
Pastor Felix has a vision of reaching a broader base of Hispanics in Lexington and planting Hispanic churches in the region. His desire is to discover and develop church leaders and then deploy them to minister.
