“We have been praying for quite some time for God to raise up leaders and to bring us into relationships with the lost,” says Carin Cochran, director of Christian Challenge at Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan.

“We have definitely seen this happen this semester. Each fall here at FHSU the University hosts the Back-to-School Picnic, which is essentially a community-wide fair where they invite all the businesses, student organizations, and any other groups that students could benefit from knowing about.

“We took this opportunity to get student contacts and ask if they would like to know more about Challenge by filling out a simple little card. We had over 900 responses! But even better, over 500 of them said yes to knowing more about Challenge which means setting up a Gospel Appointment since we are about the Gospel!

“So many meetings have come out of that and tons of Truth has been shared, and discipleship relationships have been made. All from a campus organized event that we just showed up to! At this point in the semester our leadership team and staff have had 64 Gospel Appointments and eight people have professed their faith in Jesus!!

“More than 50 of us attended the annual Fall Conference at Webster Conference Center, Salina, Kan. About 70-90 students attend Challenge each Tuesday night. We are seeing great spiritual growth in our Life Groups and Discipleship Groups and we are excited for all God is doing. “As we move forward, we wait expectantly for God to work. We are continuing to pray for leaders to rise up as well as for new relationships with lost students. We would ask that you do the same for us! Thank you!”
