George Barna’s book “Transforming Children into Spiritual Champions” had a dramatic impact on my personal focus of church ministry. He stated that children will be the leaders of the next generation of Christians. If individuals and churches want to make a difference in the future, we must make teaching preschoolers and children a priority.

Our church library team works throughout the year adding new Christian books that will help children learn about the Bible, that God loves them, mold their character and deepen their faith. God has often used a book to touch the heart of a parent or grandparent as they read to their children/grandchildren.

We hold a summer reading club every year.

Why do we have book clubs? Book clubs provide a time to encourage reading Christian books from our library, bring many new faces and users into our library, and form bonds of friendship and faith between our librarians, parents and children.

What a privilege to know these children and their parents! We have a celebration party at the end of each book club to celebrate the children who read the required number of books. However, the best reason to celebrate is that God has touched many children’s hearts through Bible stories and Christian books!
